Where Did 2010 G0?

Well Goodmorning Everyone! Its been almost a whole year since I posted on this blog.  Where did it go?  My Mom always said that time sped up the older you got, well I am in denial about the older part, so I will just go with the older our kids get.  I remember when our kids were babies, and it seemed that there just wasn't enough hours in the day to get everything done, and it was very true.  Well, the only difference when your kids are pre-teens, is now you are juggling their lives, our lives, work, home, friends, parents, school.. etc...  Life really does fly by!  This year we managed to take some time in our busy lives to spend time doing what is really important to us, connecting with our family.  In May we took a family holiday to Hawaii, and had the time of our lives.  I really could live there.  I wonder what my life would have been like had I been born there, as was almost the case.  You see, my Dad was offered a job in Hawaii in 1971 for a year.  My Mom and Dad declined the offer, as at the time my Mom just couldn't see herself living that far away from her family.  She and my Dad were married in 1969 and moved about 7 minutes away from her Mom and Dad, so she just couldn't do it.  Hawaii is an amazing place, I love the climate, the ocean, the breeze, the people, the food and the laid back way of life.  My kids enjoyed everything about Hawaii, the Garden State  as well, and ask everyday if we are going back this year.  I would love to say "Yes" but for now the answer is "We will see."  In less than 2 weeks we are heading off on a Carribean Cruise the Hubby, myself and our greatest friends.  We are looking forward to spending some great times with the best of friends and making many  happy Memories.  You see for me travel is what life is about.  If I won the lottery, the only thing I could imagine changing would be location.  I have never been a homebody, and even though I love my house and kids and having family friends around, I love to wander.  Whether its in Stores, distant Countries, Nearest Countries anywhere.  I just love to be out and about and experiencing New things.  I think our kids are the same, and Darrin, well he has travelling down pat.  Our Children are the best when we travel.  They have fun, we laugh so much and enjoy just being together.  I believe we learn more about ourselves, as well as others.  Schedules go out the window, and we just enjoy going with the flow.  I am looking forward to many more adventures to come, both with my Best Friend and Husband and our Children.  We truly are lucky.  I am so gratefull for the family and friends we have.  Happy New Year Everyone!

Real Post for January 21st

Hi Everyone,   my earlier post was done about 10 days ago, and I thought I posted it, but today I noticed it actually didn't get onto my blog.  Soooooooooo... Here goes todays actual post.  I wanted to upload some cards that I have been working on.  Its funny how once we are done a season I am so ready to move onto newer colours and stamps belonging to the next season.  Nothing stands out better than going from Christmas themes and colours, to the lighter pallettes and lighter themes such as Valentines day.  Most of my family and friends know that I am in love with "Hearts".  I am truly ruled by my heart and instinctively will gravitate toward anything with a Heart or the colour red, or pink.  It is one of my favourite Holidays, I say one of, because truthfully I love change and love all the holidays for what they represent.  Time spent with family and the specialness that entails.  Anyways, I will post more items as I have them completed.  Enjoy!

The card to the left is Addytude a bella, done with taken with teal and Kiwi kiss and the dp is S.E.I.

The card to the right is Stampin up's butterfly die cut in Pink Passion and Pretty in Pink papers.  The background is basic black and Sahara Sand.  Its hard to see but the black is embossed with the Baroque Swirls stamp.

Missing January Post

January is such a nice break from November and December.  I love the downtime, that makes it possible to catch up on all the little projects that we just don't have time to do in the later part of the year.  I've noticed amongst family and friends, we all seem to be in organization mode.  This is my favourite mode!  I love the shopping and especially the planning when it comes to organization.  Every year, there seems to be new gadgets that promise to make us on time and help us with even the most minute detail in our lives.  Some of us will be going through our kids closets and purging items we no longer need, in our quest to live simplistic lives in a world filled with excesses.  Now is the time to paint that kitchen or finish that renovation in the basement.  Organize our pantrys, closets, sheds, anything we can get our hands on.  This is really our renewal, our fresh start to a new year.   I love January, and I am looking forward to this year and all that comes with it.  Happy New Year Everyone!

Our 1st Christmas Cards of the Year!

These our from our Monday night Stampin up Group.   I can't take credit for the designs, all I did was put them together.  Our Beautifull and wonderfully talented pusher... I mean Stampin up Lady did a tremendous amount of work, I believe she cut for 240 cards.  Wow, we owe her big time.  It was a great night, and I think they all turned out well.  We used the Holiday Lounge paper, with Ruby Red, Sahara Sand, Taken with Teal and White for the top (2) photos.  The bottom photo used Kraft and the new Soft Suede.  All with the Delightfull Decorations stamp set.  Thanks for such a great night, you are the best.  We love you.

Santa Claus is coming to town.

Ok so he's not coming for 64 days, but I want to be ready. These are tags made from Stampin Ups "Top Note" Die cut.  The ornaments are from the mini catalogue and the set is "Delightfull Decorations".  It's never too early to get started for Christmas.
